This page explains what Bartik Co. (“Bartik”, “we”) does with the details you share through this website. The short version: we use them to look at your business and reply to you, and we use Meta’s tools to measure our ads. We don’t sell your details, and we don’t add you to marketing lists.
What we collect
When you send the contact form, we receive:
- your name, phone number, email address, business name and website;
- anything you choose to tell us about your business, such as what feels messy or manual;
- where your visit came from, if your browser tells us: the referring website and any campaign tags in the link you followed;
- your approximate country, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop repeated or automated submissions.
How we use it
- To look at your business website before we contact you, as the form says.
- To contact you about your enquiry, by phone or email.
- To keep a record of your enquiry and our conversation.
- To protect the form from spam and abuse.
We won’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or rent your details to anyone.
Who handles it for us
A small number of service providers help us run this website and receive enquiries:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores enquiries.
- FormSubmit delivers each enquiry to our team by email, and sends you a short confirmation.
- ntfy sends our team an instant phone notification when you enquire. It carries your name, business name and which ad you came from, not your phone number or email.
- Anthropic provides the AI model our team uses to organise enquiries and notes from calls. It doesn’t use your details to train its models.
- Meta measures visits and enquiries from our ads (see below).
They process your details on our behalf and only for these purposes. Their servers may be outside Australia, including in the United States.
Advertising measurement (Meta)
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use Meta’s tools to measure which ads lead to enquiries:
- The Meta Pixel sets cookies and tells Meta when you visit this site and when you send an enquiry.
- When you send an enquiry, we also send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email, phone number, name and country, plus your IP address and browser details, through Meta’s Conversions API. This lets Meta match the enquiry to an ad. We never send Meta what you write about your business.
- If you go on to book a call, see a prototype, get a proposal or become a client, we send Meta that step too, with the same scrambled details (and the project value if you become a client), so our ads reach businesses like yours.
Meta may use this information under its own policies, including to show you ads. You can control ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and block cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond to you and to manage any work that follows. If we don’t end up working together, we delete them once they’re no longer needed. Submissions caught by our spam filter are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete them. Email harry@bartikco.com and we’ll reply promptly.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If we change how we use your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
